Wuerttemberg, Kingdom, Digits in Rhombus-Overprinted with new Value, 1916, Michel Nr. 122; The issuance of the 7.5Pf value, that was in the same color as the previous 25Pf stamps (Michel Nr. 106 and 117, dark-orange), created confusion in postal operations. In order to avoid any mistakes postal authorities decided to overprint the remaining stamps with a black „25Pf“.
Hers are two postally used stamps in two different color shades (both with water mark). The left one is signed „Infla“
In order to introduce the new stamp to the general public specimen copies of the stamp were released by postal authorities to the press. In order to avoid that these samples were used in order to harm the post they were overprinted with „Probe zur Frankatur nicht verwendbar“ (Specimen not valid as postage). Here is the mint hinged specimen of the overprinted 25Pf stamp.
