Wuerttemberg, Kingdom, Coat of Arms in Perforation 10 ink new colors, January1863 – April 1864, Michel Nr. 25-29: Five stamps in the nominals 1Kr, 3Kr, 6Kr, 9Kr and 18 Kr were issued.

1Kr (yellowish-green, Michel Nr. 25a) mint never hinged with full original gum in a spectacular block of 15 stamps. This is one of the largest mint units that still exist. Michel values a used block of four already at 150 times that of a single stamp.

The postage was made up of 6Kr Postal Union and 6Kr onwards transport in France. Stamps cancelled with their triple-ringed circular cancelers of Stuttgart. Bade/Strassburg transit on front. Various transit/arrival cancels on the reverse. Michel values a strip of four at 250 times that of a single stamp.

Rare mixed franking of the fourth and sixth stamp issue of Wuerttemberg. 6Kr (Green, Michel Nr. 18ya) together with 3Kr (dark-carmine, Michel Nr. 26b) paying an overall postage of 9Kr for a letter sent from Heilbronn to Ploessberg in Bavaria. Mixed franking of the 6th and 7th issue on a Charge letter sent from Niederstotzingen (+30 points) in February of 1865 to Rosenau in France. The letter was routed through Munich, Vienna and Kaschau. Franked with two 3Kr (Michel Nr. 22a) stamps (damaged through opening the cover) of the 6th and the 9Kr stamp of the 7th issuepaying an overall postage of 15Kr . The postage consists of 6Kr for the base letter (2 lots), 3Kr for the transfer into the Austrian Postal Club and 6Kr charge surcharge.Various transit cancels on the reverse.

Mixed franking of the 9Kr stamp (black-brown, Michel Nr. 28d) on a 9Kr postal stationary (U6) paying an overall postagte of 18Kr. The postage was made up of 6Kr for the German, Swiss and Italian Post respectively. Mailed from Schramberg to Milan in Italy. Canceled with the triple-ringed circular canceler of Schramberg (+5 points). Various transit cancels on the reverse.

9Kr stamp (black-brown, Michel Nr. 28d) used in Stuttgart.

18Kr stamp mint with original gum (hinge remnant) signed „Thoma“.

This stamp was also forged by the well known forger Jean de Sperati. Here is the 18Kr Sperati forgery as published in his limited edition books „The works of Jean Sperati“ with a forged cancel.

18Kr stamp cancelled with the single-pin ged circular canceler of Esslingen.

Single franking of the 18Kr samp in deep-orange (Michel Nr. 29) on an international letter sent in October of 1863 from Ebingen to London, England. The Postal Union tariff amounted to 8Kr and the onward transport to London cost 10Kr. as indicated by the red manuscript marking. Signed „Thoma“.

Mixed franking of the 6Kr and 18Kr stamps paying an overall postage of 24Kr for an international letter sent in January of 1865 from Stuttgart to Milan. The 24Kr postage was made up of 6Kr Postal Union, 6Kr Swiss postage and 12Kr for the remainder of the distance. Stamps cancelled with the triple-ringed circular canceler of Stuttgart. The 18Kr stamp shows small signs of repair.
