Wuerttemberg, Kingdom, 25 Years Reign of King Wilhelm II, October 6th, 1916, Michel Nr. 123-129; In honor of the 25th anniversary of the kings reign new service stamps featuring the Wuerttemberg crown were issued in the nominals of 2.5Pf, 7.5Pf, 10Pf, 15Pf, 20Pf, 25Pf and 50Pf.

Here is the mint never hinged set with complete HAN (Hausauftragsnummer). Listed under Michel 123-129HAN.

In order to introduce the new stamp to the general public specimen copies of the stamp were released by postal authorities to the press. In order to avoid that these samples were used in order to harm the post they were overprinted with „Probe zur Frankatur nicht verwendbar“ (Specimen not valid as postage). Here are the mint hinged specimen of the 2.5Pf, 7.5Pf, 15Pf and 20Pf stamps.

This is the complete set with the uniform canceler from Reutlingen Nr. 2 post office. All signed „Infla“.

Postally used 15Pf stamps on small pieces and used in Saulgau and Wangen. The Saulgau cancel is of value category 3 and the Wangen cancel is a category 1.

Beware of this small Stuttgart canceler. It was never used in postal operations other than for canceling to order service stamps. Michel values stamps with this cancel at only at 12% of postally used specimen.

A complete sheet of 40 of the imperforate 2.5Pf service stamp was officially auctioned off by the German Reichs printing works (Reichsdruckerei). No other imperforate specimens have appeared. Listed under Michel Nr. 123 PU. Here is one of these 40 stamps mint never hinged.
